Lingerie Football Fight Video: Watch Sexy Ladies Duke it Out on the Gridiron

In a scene that looked like it came out of the dream of an average American male, an all-out catfight broke out in a Lingerie Football League game between Julie Rolfe of the Tampa Bay Breeze and Tamar Fennell of the Cleveland Crush.

Rolfe seemed to start the action by landing a few jabs to the face, but Fennell took control by the end with some vicious ground strikes.

I'm assuming this type of thing is frowned upon in the LFL. However, after watching this, they might want to consider making fighting a part of the game, much like hockey

While most people probably look at the LFL as a gimmick league in which a bunch of beautiful women prance around in their underwear, this proves that the ladies actually have quite a bit invested in competing and succeeding on the gridiron.

With that said, the LFL may want to look into an offshoot venture called the Lingerie Fighting League. To be honest, any man who is watching the Lingerie Football League is probably desperately rooting for a fight to break out. Why not remove all doubt?

The LFL clearly has some feisty ladies who are willing to engage in fisticuffs. The league may benefit from having some scantily-clad women, with supermodel good-looks, duke it out in the octagon on pay-per-view.

If the Rolfe/Fennell fight were to go to the scorecards, UFC-style, Rolfe would probably have been given the first round for landing some early haymakers. The second round was pretty even as the momentum shifted, but Fennell took the third with a flurry of right hands.

After three rounds of good, wholesome, lingerie fighting action, here is your winner, by unanimous decision: anybody who had the pleasure of watching that video!

Lingerie Football League Turmoil: Is the Sport in Danger of Folding?

With the NBA lockout already decreasing entertainment for fans, it appears the sexy Lingerie Football League is hanging on by a thread.

The LFL decided to start a Toronto franchise this year, despite league-wide skepticism, and has since seen 22 of the team's 26 players quit.

From the start, the league has accused of a wide array of controversial actions.

"Beyond the league sending all the wrong messages about women's sports, it's also been accused of plenty of shady operations, doesn't pay its players (beyond travel expenses) and has previously threatened to sue players who wanted out."

Coaching inexperience has also seemingly presented quite the issue with player safety.

With all the other teams apparently having ex-NFL coaches, this problem hit rock bottom when assistant coach Sebastian Clovis (a former Saskatchewan Roughriders' and B.C. Lions' defensive back) was fired.

When the players emailed league owner Mitchell S. Mortaza about their issues, he responded with angry threats and defensive criticisms. According to one player, things got a bit out of hand, considering four girls were undeservedly cut.

"The four girls let go were accused of being "I" players and not down for the team, when we were the most dedicated, acquired almost all sponsorship and marketing perks as well as being great leaders on and off the field. We had two scheduled practices a week, no permit! Girls had to take time from work to practice on fields in the city with football friends. Bottom line, we put so much into this, our fans are pissed, the coaches are lying about us. All we wanted was a coaching upgrade so we could be the best and represent Canada!"

With Mortaza essentially running an organization that feeds on excited fans who will pay to see sexy women run around in lingerie and hit each other, he will have to really consider modifying things.

Perhaps a higher standard for coaches and a stronger desire for winning football, rather than just sexy pigskin.

If he doesn't improve the respect revolved around the sport quickly, they could all find themselves out of work.

Lingerie Football is sweeping the nation.

The Lingerie Football League, or LFL "has become the Ultimate Fan-Driven Live Sports Phenomenon - Blending Action, Impact and Beauty."

But what is it?

The LFL was created in 2009 and is a 7-on-7 all-female American football league. They play full-tackle football.

The idea spawned from the Lingerie Bowl, which is a pay-per-view program that airs directly opposite the Super Bowl Halftime Show each year.

The Lingerie Bowl is also a full-contact game of 7-on-7 female football players that has attracted millions of viewers every season, after first airing in 2004.

One of the biggest draws for fans to the game is probably the attire of the players. LFL teams wear bras and panties as their uniforms, along with protective padding and clear plastic helmets.

But these scantily clad women are no joke.

"I think it is eye candy for one but it is also football and it is real," said Kaley Tuning, wide-receiver with the Miami Caliente in a Reuters interview from 2009.

"There were try outs for the team and if you couldn't play you didn't make the cut. I've seen people say it is a joke and it is degrading and it makes me mad. We are real athletes, for them to not take us seriously, well I say wait till you see us play."

MTV2's LFL Friday Night Football airs the ladies' games every Friday night at 10:00 PM EST this fall for the 2011/2012 season.

The Conference Finals begin on Jan. 28, 2012, and the season culminates with the Lingerie Bowl in Las Vegas on Feb. 5, 2012.

The LFL includes 10 franchise teams.

These teams are "made up of the [country's] hottest and most athletic women," according to the LFL Facebook page.

At the Chicago tryouts in March 2011, 200 women showed up to show the coachs what they got, according to The Blaze.

As for the hopeful players' responses to the sexy outfits they will have to wear if chosen?

"I just appreciate playing football, I don't care what they put me in," said one woman.

The LFL is set to expand to other countries around the world. It will launch in Canada with the first Lingerie Bowl in November 2012. Then it will start up in Australia in 2013 and Europe in 2014.
